Cupcake Pops!

I have to post the pics of the cupcake pops I made for Emmah for her birthday treat. I found them on the web via Martha Stewart, and then used some really easy to follow directions at Bakerella. They turned out great!!! I am looking forward to making them again soon!
This is what they first look like, you have to use a cookie cutter and some molding to make the shape.

This is after the first dip in chocolate!!!

This is what they looked like after the final dip, and then all dressed up and ready to eat!! The kids loved them!! Hope you will give them a try too!!

Emmah's 6!!!

Today my little girl finally moved from one hand to two! Who knew this would be such a BIG deal. She was awakened this morning to a lovely duet of her mom and brother singing her "Happy Birthday!", not sure if that is the best way to wake, but it works!

She got to be special helper at school today, which means she was line leader, got to bring something for show-in-tell, and got to read a book to the class. She was most excited about reading! She loves to read, and so choosing a book proved to be a challenge.

As her treat she brought cupcake pops, made by her mom. I have to say they turned out so cute!! I am definetly going to be making more of those! I will post pics later!

She got many phone calls today from family and loved every minute of it! Jake didn't love it so much, but we'll see how he feels when his birthday comes and they are all calling for him! Her family party is on Sunday, so I still have time to finish my castle cake! She got to go out for a special lunch to the place of her choice, McDonalds w/playland! It was pretty fancy! We finished off the day with her choice for her birthday dinner of Mac 'n' cheese, mashed potatoes, and corn! For dessert she was treated to a trip to the Junction by Mimi and Papa (mom, dad, and Jake got to go too!!) Overall it was a great day!

Cake, Cake, Cake

Okay, so one of my many things that I like to do is to make the kids birthday cakes for them from scratch. They each have had homemade ones, except for their first birthdays. I have made a princess, a dump truck, Mac from Cars, a baseball hat, a cow, and now my darling daughter has requested a castle.

Here is what it looks like:

All the reviews say it is easy, so here's wishing me luck on this adventure! But wait that's not all
for her birthday treat I found these really cute cupcake sticks, they are adorable! So of course I have to make those too! So needless to say we are going to be eating a lot of cake around here!!

Emmah's New Haircut

Well after waiting six years it finally happened.......Emmah cut her own hair. We have caught her a couple of times near it, but she has never actually done it.
Thursday night was like any other night, the kids were playing and running around, I was reading and I thought all was fine. Then Jake comes in the living room and tells me that Emmah is trying to cut a piece of ribbon with scissors. So I go and check it out....when I got to her, she was in the bathroom scissors on the counter so I took them away and suddenly realized there was hair on the counter. After a much closer look I saw she had cut her hair and a pretty good amount of it at that. Needless to say, she went to bad, I was upset, then realized it was pretty funny, and then laughed and cried (I cried because I was pretty sure that my mom was up in heaven laugh hysterically at both of us! She would have gotten a kick out of this one!)

Friday afternoon we went and had it all fixed! Now she is cuter then ever! Thanks Kim!

Birthday's a Plenty

The month of April is a crazy month of birthday's for us, we have 8! That includes Toby's and Emmah's. Emmah is super excited about her birthday and this year she gets to have an actual party with friends. Since she is turning 6 she gets to invite 6 friends, choosing was quite a chore! She has been planning her party for months, and was sure she should have a princess party, but the guest list contained at least 4 boys! So we agreed to have a bowling party instead, and that mom would make her a princess cake for her family party.

We have setteled into the new house, and have moved into a routine. We have made some adjustments, and are now really enjoying our extra space! It has been great to have a bigger backyard, along with an actual playroom for all those toys!!

Easter Fun!

This time of year rolls around, and there are many fun things we do with the kids, it's like we sense the fact that spring is actually on the way! We rejoice in the fact that our Savior has Risen and the sacrafice he made for us, and spend some joyous time with family.

Of course we have to prepare for the Easter bunny, by decorating eggs.

And there have to be a few egg hunts along the way too! This year the kids had one at daycare, which they do every year and look forward to very much! We added a new one this year. The township does an egg hunt at a local park and we went. The kids had a really good time, and we will definetly go again next year!

Good Days

Today was one of those days that you just overall enjoy. We started off the day with a surprise trip to Crazy Bounce to meet a school friend. It was a really good time, they were all over the place and got out a ton of energy! We then went to Coldstone to pick a certian someone's birthday cupcakes! Picking an ice cream was a hard decision!

We went out to lunch just the 3 of us. And had a good time! No fits, no throwing food, just a nice meal with my 3 and 5 year old. That doesn't always happen, but it sure is great when it does!

To finish off our great day we attended our friend Trey's (Marty's) Star Wars themed birthday party! The kids had a blast. Emmah even won the Jedi training course.....maybe we have something there...

Tonight as I look back, we had our little gliches here and there, but I really had a great day with the kids and these are the types of things that I want to always remember.

A New Beginning

I feel like as a family we have been given a new beginning. Life without Memah, isn't the same and never really will be, but I hold tight to the great memories, fun times, good laughs, and wonderful worldly advice that she gave me everyday of her life. I miss her more then ever.

This weekend was the big move. We moved from our small shoebox house to her house, which is ours now. It gave us twice the space, and many more benefits. (Like a second bathroom!!) It was a crazy weekend, but I think we have found most things, not all! We havea majority of the boxes put away, but still have a ways to go. I am hoping to put a lot of the finishing touches into place over spring break.

I truly feel her here, and that brings me comfort to know that we will add to the already long list of wonderful memories that are here. We made a lot of changes to make it our own. I will post some pictures later next week, when we are done!
